Troopers on Patrol for Impaired Drivers as County Fairs Kickoff

July 17, 2026 (Hastings, Neb.) — County Fair season is underway across the state and troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol will be working to keep fairgoers safe on the roads all summer long.
This weekend, troopers will be working overtime as part of a special effort surrounding the Adams County Fair in Hastings. The fair began on Wednesday, July 15, and runs through Sunday, July 19.
Troopers will be performing high visibility patrols around Adams County during the fair. This is part of a series of grant funded operations focused on roadway safety surrounding community events this summer.
Grant funding is provided by the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office to help make this effort possible.
