Help Wanted – Utility Superintendent/Maintenance

Village of Palisade, Nebraska is seeking a motivated, dependable individual to serve as our Utility Superintendent.

This is a key leadership position responsible for maintaining and improving essential services that keep our community running safely and efficiently.

Position Responsibilities:
 Operation and maintenance of the municipal water and sewer systems
 Maintenance and upkeep of streets, parks, and the cemetery
 Oversight of daily utility operations and infrastructure
 Turf management and mosquito control operations

Requirements:
 Grade 4 Water Operator License (or ability to obtain within a required timeframe)
 Ability to obtain a Chemical Applicator License for turf management and mosquito
control
 Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and ability to work independently
 Mechanical aptitude and general equipment operation experience preferred

Pay is based on experience. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the quality of life for our residents. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and in serving a small community.

Help Wanted – Lifeguards/Pool Manager

The Village of Palisade is now accepting applications for the summer positions of lifeguards and a Pool Manager. Pay starts at $13.50 for lifeguards and will pay based on experience. Applicants must be at least 15 years of age. Lifeguards must obtain proper certification (or be willing to become certified before the season begins.) Please return applications by March 9, 2026.

Southwest Public Power District has an opening for the position of Journeyman or Apprentice power line worker. Duties include, but are not limited to, maintenance and construction of overhead and underground distribution and sub-transmission facilities. The District operating hours are a compressed work schedule with every other Friday off. After-hours and on-call duty are required. This position requires heavy lifting, pole climbing, and other strenuous activity and working well with other crew members. Must be able to complete associated written and electronic documentation. Must possess a valid Class B CDL and pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test. Mixing Operator 1’s start at $19.34/hr. We are hiring for 2nd shift only on the mixing side so they would get the $1.25 differential on top of that.
