Troopers Find Six Pounds of Cocaine in I-80 Traffic Stop

April 23, 2026 (North Platte, Neb.)  — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol have arrested one person after finding six pounds of cocaine during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 near Maxwell.

Tuesday, at approximately 4:00 p.m., a trooper saw a Jeep Cherokee speeding on Interstate 80 near Maxwell. During the traffic stop, the trooper detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

Troopers searched the vehicle and found six pounds of cocaine concealed in a bag inside the rear of the vehicle, as well as a small amount of marijuana. Troopers determined that the cocaine was in the possession of the passenger.

The passenger, Tyesha Martin, 36, of Cleveland, Ohio, was arrested for possession of cocaine and possession with intent to deliver. She was lodged in Lincoln County Jail.
