MNB Seniors fell to Holdrege 2-1 on Tuesday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at one in the bottom of the seventh when Cameron Waldo singled, scoring one run.
Both teams were strong on the bump. Holdrege pitchers struck out four, while MNB Seniors sat down six.
MNB Seniors got on the board in the seventh inning after Asher Wilson singled, scoring one run.
Holdrege jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the seventh inning after Kypton Hollertz flew out, and Waldo singled to left field, each scoring one run.
Kooper Rakes stepped on the bump first for MNB Seniors. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and two runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking two. Hudson Otto stepped on the hill first for Holdrege. The hurler surrendered one hit and zero runs over six innings, striking out four and walking five.
Wilson went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Wilson, Bo Schlegel, Bryson Gullion, and Trenton Raile each collected one hit for MNB Seniors.
Waldo and Hollertz were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Holdrege. Nick Taylor went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Holdrege in hits. Holdrege were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Chance Bailey had the most chances in the field with five.
