MNB Senior Walk-Off In Nail-Biter Against Holdrege

It came down to the wire on Monday, as MNB Seniors grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 5-4, over Holdrege. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the seventh when Bryson Gullion singled, scoring one run.

Holdrege opened the scoring in the first after Chance Bailey singled, scoring one run.

Kale Sattler singled to right field, which helped MNB Seniors tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

A single by Hudson Otto gave Holdrege the lead, 2-1, in the top of the third.

Asher Wilson homered to left field, which helped MNB Seniors tie the game at two in the bottom of the third.

In the bottom of the fifth, MNB Seniors broke up the tie when Abel Wilson singled, scoring one run. Then a fly out by Jaime Samaniego followed to extend the lead to 4-2.

Landon VanBoening singled to center field, which helped Holdrege tie the game at four in the top of the seventh.

Wilson began the game for MNB Seniors. The starter gave up eight hits and four runs (three earned) over six and two-thirds innings, striking out eight and walking none. Nick Taylor began the game for Holdrege. The starter allowed six hits and two runs over three innings, striking out five and walking one. Gullion appeared in relief for MNB Seniors.

MNB Seniors tallied 11 hits in the game. Wilson, Sattler, Kooper Rakes, and Gullion each collected two hits for MNB Seniors. Wilson, Sattler, Wilson, Samaniego, and Gullion each drove in one run for MNB Seniors. Bo Schlegel led MNB Seniors with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Wilson stole two bases.

Bailey, Otto, and VanBoening each drove in one run for Holdrege. VanBoening went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Holdrege in hits. Conner Tilson collected two hits for Holdrege in four at bats. Cameron Waldo and VanBoening each stole multiple bases for Holdrege. Holdrege stole seven bases in the game. Holdrege didn't commit a single error in the field. Bailey had the most chances in the field with 13.
