MCC’s Sadie Kahl named region’s player of the week

McCook Community College freshman softball player Sadie Kahl has been named Region IX player of the week.

Kahl, from Notre Dame High School in Calgary, Alberta, had a 3-0 record in the pitching circle for the week of April 1-7.

In three starts, she pitched 20 innings, allowing one earned run for a 0.35 earned run average. She allowed 10 hits, walked two and struck out 20.

For the season she has started 15 games for the Lady Indians and is 13-2 with a 2.98 ERA. She has struck out 79 hitters in 85 innings. She is third in Region IX with her ERA, is second with her 13 wins and fifth in strikeouts.

At the plate she has 45 hits in 90 at bats with 12 doubles, a home run and 28 RBIs in 32 games. Her .500 batting average is fifth best in Region IX. She has a .535 on-base average and is slugging .667.
