LSU Takes Game One Of Championship Series

(Omaha, NE) The LSU Tigers defeated Coastal Carolina on Saturday night by a final score of 1-0. LSU would get 1 run on six hits, and no errors. Coastal Carolina would have just 3 hits in the game and 1 error.
LSU (52-15) starting pitcher Kade Anderson pitched a complete game shutout. It was only the 3rd complete game shutout in CWS finals history. Anderson struck out 10 Coastal batters. Meanwhile, the Chanticleers (56-12) lost for the first time in 27 games. Their winning streak began on April 22nd. Coastal struggled during the entire game with runners in scoring position going 0-9.
Game two of the series will be Sunday afternoon in Omaha as LSU looks for its eighth national title. Coastal Carolina will need to defeat LSU on Sunday to set up a winner-takes-all game on Monday night. First pitch is set for 1:30 pm. Watch live on ABC.
