Huskers Set for Challenging Schedule

Nebraska's schedule with conference home and road dates was announced officially by the Big Ten Conference through the Big Ten Network's special men's and women's basketball schedule reveal show on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 3 p.m. (CT).
Overall, Nebraska is expected to play at least 20 of its 29 regular-season games against 2025 postseason qualifiers, including 13 games against NCAA Tournament teams. NU's 2025-26 opponents won nearly 60 percent of their games a year ago (516-355).
Eleven of Nebraska's 17 regular-season home games will come against 2025 postseason participants, including seven games against NCAA Tournament teams at Pinnacle Bank Arena throughout the 2025-26 campaign.
"We are definitely excited for the challenges the upcoming season will present us," Nebraska Coach Amy Williams said. "Our team has been working extremely hard during the offseason, and we have confidence that our non-conference schedule is going to prepare us for an incredibly tough Big Ten Conference schedule. Most of all, we are looking forward to seeing all of the great fans in Husker Nation at Pinnacle Bank Arena this season."
The Huskers, who earned their second consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2025, finished with a 21-12 overall record that included a 10-8 Big Ten mark. Nebraska also won two games at the Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis before taking on Louisville in the first round of March Madness in Fort Worth, Texas.
Nebraska returns 2025 Big Ten All-Freshman and honorable-mention all-conference point guard Britt Prince, along with 2024 Big Ten Freshman of the Year Natalie Potts, who missed Nebraska's final 28 games a year ago after suffering a season-ending injury in the fifth contest.
Potts and Prince will return as sophomores to lead the Huskers along with fellow sophomores Petra Bozan and Amiah Hargrove, who both played in all 33 games inside for Nebraska in 2024-25. Junior Logan Nissley, a 2024 Big Ten All-Freshman selection, and fellow junior Jessica Petrie also return after successful seasons as starters last season.
Senior Callin Hake, another returning starter, joins Allison Weidner and redshirt freshman Kennadi Williams in Nebraska's group of returning players, alongside newcomers Emily Fisher (Maryland transfer), Claire Johnson (Samford transfer), Eliza Maupin (Kansas State transfer), Hailey Weaver (Northwestern transfer) and true freshman Alanna Neale.
The Big Red's non-conference schedule begins with an exhibition game against Mount Marty on Friday, Oct. 24 at 8 p.m., before the Huskers open the regular season against Northwestern State on Monday, Nov. 3. The game with the Lady Demons, who earned a bid to the 2025 WNIT, will be part of Nebraska's annual Sizemore Sportsmanship Pep Rally that includes a special noon tip-off.
Nebraska's schedule continues with a battle against the Samford Bulldogs (Saturday, Nov. 8), before the Huskers close a three-game regular-season home stand by taking on 2025 NCAA qualifier Creighton on Wednesday, Nov. 12. The game against the Jays starts a stretch of four consecutive contests with 2025 postseason qualifiers. The stretch includes a neutral site clash against North Dakota State, which advanced to the WNIT Great 8, at the Sanford Pentagon on Sunday, Nov. 16.
The Huskers return home to face 2025 WBIT qualifier Oral Roberts on Wednesday, Nov. 19, before flying to Florida for the Emerald Coast Classic (Nov. 24-25). NU will take on Purdue Fort Wayne, which advanced to the 2025 WNIT Great 8, before potentially facing Virginia, which went 17-15 and 8-10 in the ACC a year ago.
Nebraska returns to Pinnacle Bank Arena to battle Bradley (Wednesday, Dec. 3), before tipping Big Ten action at Penn State (Dec. 6).
The Huskers come back home to open a four-game stand starting with Omaha (Tuesday, Dec. 9), before tangling with WNIT Fab 4 participant Illinois State on Sunday, Dec. 14. NU closes non-conference play against Cal Baptist (Sunday, Dec. 21).
The Huskers make their home Big Ten debut against USC on Monday, Dec. 29. The Trojans advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight a year ago with a roster that features reigning Big Ten and National Player-of-the-Year JuJu Watkins.
USC will be the first of six Big Ten teams that qualified for the 2025 NCAA Tournament to take on the Huskers at Pinnacle Bank Arena in 2025-26.
After playing the Big Ten home opener against the Trojans, the Huskers travel to Iowa to face the Hawkeyes on New Year's Day, before opening a rare three-game Big Ten home stand with Purdue (Sunday, Jan. 4). The stand continues against NCAA qualifier Indiana (Thursday, Jan. 8), before 2025 NCAA Final Four qualifier UCLA visits Lincoln for the first time since helping the Huskers open the doors to Pinnacle Bank Arena (Nov. 8, 2013).
A stretch of three consecutive contests with NCAA qualifiers continues on the road at Michigan State (Thursday, Jan. 15), before the Huskers continue a two-game road swing at Wisconsin (Wednesday, Jan. 21).
The Huskers come back home to face 2025 NCAA qualifier Illinois (Saturday, Jan. 24), before capping the month of January with a home game against Northwestern (Wednesday, Jan. 28).
February will feel like the NCAA Tournament every night for the Huskers, as all eight games for the Big Red during the month will feature head-to-head matchups with 2025 postseason teams. The formidable February begins on the road at NCAA qualifiers Ohio State (Sunday, Feb. 1) and Michigan (Wednesday, Feb. 4), before the Huskers come back to PBA to battle 2025 NCAA Sweet Sixteen participant Maryland (Saturday, Feb. 7).
The Huskers return to the road to meet 2025 WBIT Champion Minnesota at Williams Arena in Minneapolis (Thursday, Feb. 12), before returning to Lincoln for their second meeting of the season with NCAA qualifier Iowa (Monday, Feb. 16).
Nebraska then makes its longest road trip of the year to take on 2025 NCAA qualifiers Oregon (Thursday, Feb. 19) and Washington (Sunday, Feb. 22), before closing out the regular season against 2025 WNIT participant Rutgers (Saturday, Feb. 28).
The 2026 TIAA Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament returns to Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis (March 4-8), before the NCAA Selection Show announces a 68-team field on Sunday, March 15. The NCAA First Four will be held at campus sites (March 18-19), before the NCAA First and Second rounds continue at campus sites March 20-23. Eight-team NCAA Regionals will be held in Fort Worth, Texas and Sacramento, Calif., before PHX Arena in Phoenix hosts the 2026 NCAA Women's Final Four (April 3-5).
