Huskers Run Rule Oklahoma State, Advance to WCWS

The No. 1 Nebraska softball team advanced to its first Women’s College World Series since 2013 with a 9-1 victory over the No. 15 Oklahoma State Cowgirls on Saturday at Bowlin Stadium.

The Huskers used a seven-run fifth inning to propel them to their eighth overall Women’s College World Series and first in 13 seasons. NU also improved to 51-6 on the season. The 51 wins mark the second-highest total in program history. 

Hannah Coor paced the Husker offense with three hits and two RBI, along with a home run. Lauren Camenzind knocked a three-run shot, while Alina Felix added a two-RBI single. Kacie Hoffmann added two hits for the Big Red. 

Alexis Jensen (25-2) grabbed the win in the circle, as she tossed four innings with only two hits and one run. She added seven strikeouts and just one walk. Jordy Frahm threw a scoreless final inning to close out the victory. 

With the win and seven strikeouts today, Jensen now stands at the top of Nebraska’s single-season freshman record charts in wins (25) and strikeouts (217). She surpassed Jenny Voss’ 24 wins and current associate head coach Lori Sippel’s 210 Ks. 

OSU struck first with an RBI single in the first inning. 

Nebraska took a 2-1 lead in the top of the third, as Frahm walked and scored on a Coor double. Coor advanced to third on a throw home and crossed the plate on a Hannah Camenzind sacrifice fly. 

The Huskers enjoyed a seven-run top of the fifth to secure the 9-1 run-rule victory. Coor started the scoring with a solo shot. With two outs, Ava Kuszak singled, Jesse Farrell walked and Samantha Bland singled to load the bases. Hoffmann was hit by a pitch to send Kuszak across the plate. Bland and Farrell scored on Felix’s hit and L. Camenzind wrapped up the scoring with a three-run homer.

The Huskers will head to Oklahoma City, Okla., for the 2026 NCAA Women’s College World Series. NU will take on the No. 5 seed Arkansas Razorbacks. NU will play on Thursday, May 28, but times and television information are yet to be determined and will be updated on huskers.com as received.
