Huskers Garner Highest Director’ Cup Finish Since 2010

The University of Nebraska Athletic Department capped a strong athletic year by placing 21st in the final 2024-25 Division I Learfield Directors’ Cup standings released Thursday morning.
Nebraska finished the year with 830.50 total points, marking its best finish since a 17th-place showing in 2010 and second straight top-25 finish. It is only the fourth time in the last 20 years that the Huskers’ eclipsed the 800-point mark in the all-sports competition.
Nebraska was one of seven Big Ten teams to finish in the final top-25, joining USC (second) UCLA (fifth), Ohio State (eighth), Michigan (13th), Penn State (16th) and Oregon (18th).
During the spring, the Huskers received 64 points from softball’s Super Regional, while also scoring points in baseball, men’s tennis and both men’s and women’s track and field.
Overall, 19 sports are counted in the final DI standings, five of which must be women’s, soccer, volleyball and basketball and men’s basketball and baseball. The next highest (14 max.) sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender, are used in the standings.
For the year, Nebraska posted top-five finishes in four sports, wrestling (second), volleyball (t-third), bowling (t-third) and men’s gymnastics (fourth) while softball (t-ninth) give the Huskers a fifth top-10 finish on the year.
