Hastings St. Cecilia Shuts Out McCook

McCook Varsity Bison couldn't keep up with St. Cecilia and fell 10-0 on Thursday.

A single by Sydney Head put St. Cecilia on the board in the top of the first.

St. Cecilia scored five runs on three hits in the top of the third inning. Sydney Head singled, scoring one run, Maddison Bauer singled, scoring one run, and an error scored three runs.

Audrey Rossow earned the win for St. Cecilia. The starter gave up two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out 10 and walking one. Gracey Cornelsen took the loss for McCook Varsity Bison. The starter went four innings, allowing 10 runs (five earned) on eight hits, striking out one and walking one.

Hannah Peterson led McCook Varsity Bison with two hits in two at bats.

Sydney Head went 3-for-3 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Kyler Weidner collected two hits for St. Cecilia in three at bats. Weidner stole four bases. St. Cecilia stole six bases in the game. St. Cecilia were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Paisley Mangers had the most chances in the field with 10.

McCook now 6-19 on the year will play in the post season tournament on Thursday. Opponent, location, start time TBD.
