Grand Island Home Federal Defeats Kearney, 11-0

Bryson Walker collected three hits in three at bats, as Grand Island Home Federal defeated Kearney Pinnacle Bank 11-0 on Tuesday at Ryder Park. Walker tripled in the fourth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the third inning.

Grand Island Home Federal scored six runs in the fourth inning on the way to victory. Ethan Mader singled, scoring one run, Ian Arends doubled, scoring one run, Walker tripled, scoring two runs, Gabe Ruiz hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Carson Washburn singled, scoring one run.

Grand Island Home Federal jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Mader tripled, scoring one run, Arends singled, scoring one run, Gavin Ruether singled, scoring one run, and Brody Davidson doubled, scoring two runs.

Grayson Sack earned the win for Grand Island Home Federal. The starting pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out four and walking two. Blake Softley took the loss for Kearney Pinnacle Bank. The hurler went two and two-thirds innings, giving up five runs on eight hits, striking out none and walking none.

Grand Island Home Federal collected 13 hits in the game. Arends and Walker were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Grand Island Home Federal. Davidson, Arends, Mader, and Walker each drove in two runs for Grand Island Home Federal. Ruether collected two hits for Grand Island Home Federal in three at bats.

Kearney Pinnacle Bank were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Keaton Wemhoff had the most chances in the field with four.

GI Home Federal moves to 12-4 on the season and will next be in action this upcoming weekend at the Creighton Prep Tournament in Omaha, NE. 

In the juniors contest, Grand Island Five Points Bank defeated Kearney, 13-3. GI is now 15-1.
