Frenchman WMA partially reopens amid project

Frenchman Wildlife Management Area in Hayes County, where a boating and angler access project is underway, has partially reopened to public access.
Renovations to the access roads within the WMA have been completed, and all work at Ponds 2 and 3 is now complete. Improvements include new articulated concrete mat boat ramps and fishing nodes with crushed-rock paths adjacent to the boating facilities.
The boat ramp and parking area at Pond 1 will remain closed while the contractor completes installation of an American with Disabilities Act-compliant fishing pier and parking pad.
