Department of Labor Launches Employer Workforce Survey

Nebraska Department of Labor

The Nebraska Department of Labor has launched a survey of employers in conjunction with the Good Life, Great Careers Initiative.  The survey asks about workforce development topics including apprenticeships and AI and will inform workforce strategies across the state.

“Through the Governor’s Good Life, Great Careers Initiative, and the creation of the new State Office of Registered Apprenticeship, the Department is developing a unified strategic workforce plan to meet Nebraska’s changing economic needs,” said Commissioner of Labor Katie Thurber. “The first step in meeting employer needs is hearing directly from them.”

“Nebraska is launching a comprehensive effort to strengthen our workforce and better support employers across the state. This includes expanding high-quality apprenticeship opportunities, aligning training programs with industry demand, and preparing Nebraskans for future careers in areas such as manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, construction, and other high-demand fields,” Thurber said.

The Department is sending the survey by email, with a response deadline of December 22.  The survey takes approximately 5 minutes to complete.  Employers who do not receive the survey can contact [email protected].

“The feedback shared in the survey will play an important role in shaping Nebraska’s workforce priorities,” Thurber said.
