Broken Bow Clinches Mid Nebraska League With Wins Over McCook

Game 1
McCook MNB Seniors lost to Broken Bow 13-8 on Wednesday at Broken Bow.
Broken Bow Seniors got on the board in the top of the first inning after Brice Chaplin singled to the left side of the infield, and Andrew Ellis hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Broken Bow Seniors added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Dominic Nowak singled to the right side of the infield, Chaplin singled to center field, Max Denson grounded out, and Kanzas Kellum singled to the left side of the infield, each scoring one run.
McCook MNB Seniors tied the game in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a double by Trenton Raile, and a single by Quentin Terry.
In the top of the fifth, Broken Bow Seniors broke up the tie when Xack Lowry singled, scoring one run. Then a walk by Chaplin followed to extend the lead to 9-7.
Trey Tiller stepped on the bump first for McCook MNB Seniors. The hurler gave up 12 hits and nine runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking two. Coy Wardyn led things off on the mound for Broken Bow Seniors. The righty allowed one hit and five runs (one earned) over two innings, striking out none and walking four.
Terry and Brody Graham each collected two hits for McCook MNB Seniors. Ollie Corbett, Terry, Miles Pollmann, and Raile each drove in one run for McCook MNB Seniors. McCook MNB Seniors had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game.
Broken Bow Seniors tallied 16 hits in the game. Denson provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Broken Bow Seniors with four runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. McCook MNB Seniors stayed in it until the end, but Broken Bow pulled away late in a 2-1 victory on Wednesday at Broken Bow. The game was tied at one in the bottom of the sixth when one run scored on another play.
Both teams were strong on the bump. Broken Bow pitchers struck out 11, while McCook MNB Seniors sat down eight.
A single by Quentin Terry put McCook MNB Seniors on the board in the top of the first.
Jackson Hall singled to center field, which helped Broken Bow tie the game at one in the bottom of the fourth.

Terry and Kooper Rakes were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for McCook MNB Seniors while hitting back-to-back. Terry led McCook MNB Seniors with one run batted in. The infielder went 2-for-3 on the day.
Broken Bow Hall, the number eight hitter, led Broken Bow with two hits in three at bats. Broken Bow turned one double play in the game.
