Bill That Would Increase Court Fees Advances at Unicameral
LB935 drew over two hours of debate at the Legislature Wednesday evening.
LB935 - Provide for court docket fees and software fees and create a fund; change provisions relating to incentives for rural legal practice, protection orders, hearsay, support order liens, and paternity proceedings; provide for no-contact periods for victims of certain assaults and civil actions for conduct relating to obscene or child sexual abuse material or child exploitation devices; provide for and change offenses involving mobile tracking devices, stalking, unlawful intrusion, operation of unmanned aircraft systems, and swatting; and eliminate a presumption of probation for certain felonies.
Much of the debate centered in the increase of court fees.
